A Winter Wonderland with A Snowy Backdrop at the Virginia Cavalier

It was one of those days that reminded me why I love what I do—capturing the kind of moments that make your heart swell and your cheeks hurt from smiling!

Jenny and Malik chose The Virginia Cavalier for their winter wedding. It couldn’t have been more perfect for them.  The hotel has this timeless charm, along with the added freshly fallen snow in winter. Its grand architecture and cozy, elegant spaces added to the beauty. Their day was filled with love, laughter, and a little bit of that winter magic that makes everything feel extra special.

A Magical Day

The Morning of the Wedding

The day started with Jenny getting ready in one of The Cavalier’s luxury suites. The room was filled with soft winter light streaming through the windows. The energy was electric—her bridesmaids were laughing, helping her with final touches, and just soaking in the moment. What’s more, Malik and his groomsmen were at the Marriott next door. They were sharing a toast and cracking jokes.  The amazing windows created a feeling like they were in a scene from an old movie.

Emotional First Looks

Jenny shared a first look with her brother and sister and her Dad. Ultimately, Malik and Jenny had their own first look as well. Jenny understood that First Looks help the Groom with his wedding day nervousness.

Heartfelt Ceremony with Family & Friends

LOVE all around

Their ceremony was intimate and heartfelt, held in the loggia, one of The Cavalier’s elegant indoor spaces. The reflection of the snow softly coming through the windows provided this romantic glow to the room.  I’ll never forget the way Malik braced himself for the once in a lifetime moment. Seeing HIS Jenny come around the corner and start to head down the aisle towards him was breathtaking.

Authentic & Classic Winter Portraits

Bright Winter Snow provided the Perfect Backdrop

After the ceremony, we stepped outside for portraits. There was still snow on the ground that provided incredible light for portraits.  The Virginia Cavalier has a grand exterior made for the most stunning backdrop. Jenny’s bouquet was a picture of winter greenery and crisp luxury white florals.  The way Malik held her close to keep her warm—it was just so sweet and natural.

And NOW – to the PARTY!

A Celebration to Remember

The reception was held in The Cavalier’s grand ballroom. It was nothing short of magical. The chandeliers sparkled, the tables were decorated with candles and winter-themed details, and the whole room felt warm and inviting. Jenny and Malik’s first dance was one of my favorite moments—they were completely lost in each other. You could see how much they were enjoying every second of their day.
